Bersih 2.0 • I Don't Know How To Love Him • Sinead O'Connor

In the ballad, the oppressor pleads to an integral part of his soul - his conscience - and cries out as he loses the capacity to nurture it. He learns a little too late that his conscience has the upper hand simply because it’s an elusive 'condition' rather than an oppressive 'force'. Sinead represents the oppressor (in the Malaysian flag) as she interfaces with her conscience (in the Bersih icon).

It’s July 9th 2011 and Kuala Lumpur is barricaded. The ride to Pudu from 7th mile Cheras detoured towards Pudu Ulu via Kampung Cheras Baru and from the back-roads of Shamelin Perkasa to Kampung Pandan and finally to Pudu via Pasar Road. The back-roads are serene and unguarded but the ride is rushed and uneasy. The security of multi-racial crowd is appealing and in alpha mode, multi-racial unity is truly an amazing feeling.
