Engine blocks to wine racks


The video above depicts a straightforward and cost-effective transformation and with the crankshaft and bearings removed, two additional bottles are housed. The motor, from a scraped FTO, was purchased at RM150.00 (US50.00 approximate) from a yard in Kuala Lumpur.

The V6 below is a work in progress and is destined to swivel on the kitchen counter. The block is from a 2-liter Cifero and the ‘hidden’ swivel plate, cannibalized from a Japanese-made chair, has the appropriate 100kg load.

In Malaysia, the price of scrap aluminum is RM6.00 a kilo.
